My Philosophy
There is far more abundance in this world than most people ever realize.
Life is filled with treasures waiting to be discovered—not only in the pages of the Bible, but also in our homes, our work, our relationships, our communities, and throughout God's creation. Some are found in seasons of joy, while others are uncovered through hardship, waiting, or unexpected change.
Over the years, I've come to see life as a series of classrooms. We rarely get to choose the classroom, but we do get to choose whether we become willing students with teachable hearts.
I've discovered that the greatest treasure isn't found in the classroom itself. It's found in coming to know the Teacher—Jesus—more deeply through every season of life.
Whether I'm exploring Alaska's mountains, writing books, mentoring authors, building businesses, studying the Bible, or simply sharing what God has been teaching me along the journey, my hope is to encourage others to recognize His work in their own lives, embrace a teachable heart, and faithfully steward whatever He has entrusted to them.

Learning Along the Way
My life has taken me down roads I never could have planned.
As a child, God brought remarkable mentors into my life who nurtured my love for Alaska, encouraged me to ask questions, and taught me that some of life's greatest lessons are found by paying close attention to the world around us. Over the years, those early experiences grew into a lifelong love of exploring God's creation, seeking truth, and learning from every season of life.
Like many people, my search for truth led me to ask difficult questions. I explored many ideas before coming to understand that the God who had patiently guided, protected, and pursued me throughout my journey was Jesus Christ. Looking back, I can now see that He was faithfully preparing my heart long before I fully understood who He was.
That realization changed not only what I believed, but how I approached life. I began to see every experience—whether joyful or difficult, expected or unexpected—as another classroom where God was shaping my character, deepening my faith, and teaching me to trust Him more fully.
I'm still learning.
Every book I write, every business I build, every conversation I have, every mountain I explore, and every challenge I face becomes another opportunity to know the Teacher more deeply and faithfully steward whatever He entrusts to me.

Although my work spans several fields, I don't see them as separate pursuits. Each is simply another way of serving people, pursuing truth, and faithfully stewarding what God has entrusted to me.

One of the greatest joys of my life is investing in people. Whether mentoring writers through Writers With Grace, volunteering in my local church, serving with Eaglecrest Alaska Missions, supporting Christian ministry and education in Nigeria, or participating in a mission trip to Central Asia, I count it a privilege to encourage others and faithfully steward the opportunities God places before me.
At the heart of it all is a simple desire to love people well. Whether through writing, mentoring, serving, or simply walking alongside someone for a season, I hope my life reflects the love, grace, and truth of Jesus Christ. If my work encourages others to grow in wisdom, deepen their faith, and come to know Jesus more deeply, then every classroom, every opportunity, and every season of the journey has been worth it.
